The City of Pembroke Pines and the YMCA of South Florida have partnered to bring Adaptive Recreation to the Special Needs Population in the community. We offer a variety of Adaptive Sports and Recreational-based throughout the city of Pembroke Pines and surrounding areas. We also work along side Special Olympics! As you browse through our project positions below, please apply for the position you would be most interested in. If you are still unsure, please reach out to anyone on our team, but also please get the process started as a General Volunteer, and we will assign you to the specific project position once decided. Weston YMCA
Volunteer Areas: July 3rd Fireworks Celebration (75 volunteers) Volunteer Shift: 3:30pm-9:00pm Inflatable Stations- will be helping control the line and movement of participants at the inflatable games/ courses Water runner- Will help walk around the event with water that will be given to YMCA Volunteers and Staff (not for the public) Volunteer Areas: July 4th Race (100 volunteers) Race Shift/Set Up: 5:30am-9:00am Parade/Clean Up: 9:00am-12:30pm Water Stations- Handing out water cups on the race course. Bottle Water Station- Handing out bottle of water at the finish station. Medal Station- Handing out medals to runners at the finish line. Snack area- will be providing wrapped snacks and oranges/bananas to runners Parade Walkers- Will be walking in the City of Weston Hometown Parade.
