Candidates (ages 16+) who complete their application online are added to our event-based volunteer email list, which is generated and sent by our Volunteer Matters platform. Email notifications are sent based on volunteer need and prior to large events. Stay tuned to your email to accept your event-based volunteer assignment. The YMCA of South Florida reviews family center volunteer applications for recurring volunteers seeking to serve 10 + hours per week at our family centers. Candidates are contacted in January for an interview and tour. Volunteers selected to move forward with assignments must complete a background screening, at no cost to the volunteer candidate. Interested applicants are welcome to apply year-round while assignments occur in February of each year.
